Greetings, my name is Jason Rubero.

I help clients identify and solve complex problems using a blend of front-end design skills, technical insight, and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

I am a user-centered UI/UX professional with 11+ years of experience in discovery, requirements visualization, information architecture, wire framing, interactive prototyping, and responsive design.

Additionally, I have an engineering degree and 13+ years of experience in the high tech sector. There, I accumulated a broad technical background in software and hardware design, system integration testing, business intelligence, and business analysis.

ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES (AMD):  2021 - Present (remote)

Interface Design Engineer – AI Group

  • UX research and rapid prototyping of R&D concepts related to High Level Synthesis (HLS)

  • Created clickable prototypes to explore and refine AI-related features for FPGA applications

  • Prototyped user flows in order to integrate separate features into a suite of platform tools

AQUENT:  Austin, TX, 2017 - 2020

UI/UX Designer – Interface Design for Engineering Systems (BOEING)

  • Collaborated with the Flight Systems Engineering group to design interfaces for simulation tools

  • Designed a platform to provide senior executives with business intelligence and collaboration tools

  • Researched user needs and developed tiered-release strategies for complex, multi-year programs

  • Created clickable prototypes for satellite communication systems and employee web portals

NEW BRIGHT DESIGN:  Austin, TX, 2015 - 2017

UI/UX Designer – Responsive Web Sites and Digital Branding (SOTHEBY’S REALTY)

  • Created interactive prototypes for phones, tablets and desktops using Axure and Adobe CC

  • Partnered with clients to analyze their business needs and refine CRM feature sets

  • Created animated logos, banner ads, and information architectures to support client needs

  • Designed a fully responsive CRM system for Sotheby’s Aspen/Snowmass branch

SLALOM CONSULTING:  Seattle, WA, 2011 - 2015

UI/UX Designer – Guest-Facing Mobile Website Prototype (HOLLAND AMERICA)

  • Collaborated with clients to analyze and refine business needs around location-aware features

  • Traveled with the client on one of their cruise ships to do field research on guest needs

  • Created a responsive, location-aware prototype for guests (pre-cruise, en-route, and after-cruise)

UI/UX Designer – Responsive Web Portal (ALFRED NOBEL FOUNDATION)

  • Iterated on responsive design ideas during the ideation phase of this prestigious project

  • Helped prototype the portal UX for connecting Nobel Laureates around the world

UI/UX Designer – Partner Portal and Public Websites (METEORCOMM)

  • Partnered with stakeholders to analyze and refine business needs in order to define the UX

  • Created visual assets, redlines, and fully-responsive clickthroughs for the development team

UI/UX Designer – Employee Intranet Portal (VULCAN)

  • Created responsive wireframes and interactive prototypes using Axure

  • Created visual designs and redline documents using Adobe Photoshop CC

  • Integrated three legacy applications into a single, fully-responsive website

Senior Design and Applications Engineer

  • Designed and verified mixed signal ASIC circuits for phase-locked loop (PLL) timing-synthesis chips

  • Responsible for usability testing and applications support for ASIC Programmable Timing products

  • Usability-testing tasks included authoring requirements documents, performing acceptance testing, and researching product-fit

  • Applications support tasks included chip configuration and performance verification via laboratory measurements

  • Interfaced between Design, Marketing, and Software Engineering to provide customers with timely, to-spec, PLL solutions

  • Designed a software interface to assist customers with programming a highly configurable clock-synthesis chip architecture
